A toast to my dear sister

Just found out from my sister that she is officially sold to the tiny island . Congratulations! Every student who takes up the tuition grant from the government is required to serve in Singapore for 3 years. Not a bad deal though considering the reduction in the tuition fees.

Annual Mid Autumn Chinese Students Get Together.

Our department has the tradition in which the 3rd year students will organize a bbq gathering for all the chinese students and faculty members. This year, my fellow batchmates and I have decided to do something different from previous years. We have decided to use the satay concept for most of our bbq ingredient. We have all the meat, seafood and vegetables on bamboo skewers. 6 of us spent at least 5 hours just preparing ~400 skewers, not to mention the time  spent on grocery, phew!!! 3 cheers to all of us! Well done guys.

So, how do I define my nationality/ethnicity, blah blah? Have I blended into the mainland chinese student community?  

Black Friday

Literally, it is black Friday. So many things pilling up before me. Hw, hw, hw. Had a haircut. Chop more than half of my original length. New academic year, new look, walking into the realm of research. No pain no gain

Korean movie sprint

I watched 3 korean movies last night and this morning : My Little Bride, My Girl and I and A Millionaire’s First Love.

Somehow the korean directors just love killing the heroine. Either leukemia or cardiac disease (the last two movies). However My Little Bride is pretty comiical. Both the main casts delivered pretty good acting skills, esp Moon Geun-yeong.

I am back, kicking and alive

Wo..hoo…..can’t believe it has been 2 months since I last posted. Here I am, in front of my laptop (yay, finally reformated it) sipping some coffee. A toast for the rejuvenation of my inspiron 700m. Thanks for not letting me down over the past two years. I could sense that you were aging…but yet still summon all your energy to keep me moving on.
